In this seminar, Mr Kamal Mansaramani, project director of Ernst & Young, Mr Shahidur Rahman, project manager of LICT, BCC and Mr Gourav Panday, consultant to Ernst & Young were present at the seminar on behalf of this project. The program is a joint initiative by the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC). Under this program, training will be provided to both engineering and non-engineering students on Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES). The programs are fully funded by the government, supported by the World Bank and are delivered at the university itself.
These courses will provide a free of cost career building and life transforming mechanism. The primary objective of the project is to catalyze the growth of Bangladesh IT/ITES sector for employment creation and diversification one of the core aspects of this project are to employment linkage through a placement cell, which will have an ongoing interaction with the potential employer. This project will have a special emphasis on women graduates on all over the country. It will increase the chances for the foreign and domestic investors to invest in IT sectors leading to an increase in GDP.
