LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, Jalalabad Gas sign 10-year gas sales agreements

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC (LHB) and Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Ltd (JGTDSL) have signed two new Gas Sales Agreements (One for Industry and the other for Captive Power) on Tuesday at Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka. 

Under the new GSAs, JGTDSL will supply a total of 16 MMSCFD gas for ten years, effective from January 18, 2026. 

Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury, CEO of LHB, and Jitendra Kumar Das, company secretary of JGTDSL have signed the GSAs on behalf of their respective organizations. 

The signing ceremony was graced by Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources as the chief guest. 

Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, executive chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), was present as the special guest. 

The signing ceremony was chaired by Mohammad Saiful Islam, secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Division. 

Besides HE Michael Miller, head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, HE Reto Renggli, ambassador of Switzerland, HE Gabriel Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, ambassador of Spain, Md Rezanur Rahman, chairman of Petrobangla, managing director of JGTDSL, high officials from Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Bida, Petrobangla, JGTDSL and LHB were present in the signing ceremony.
