Recently, Southeast Bank has organized “School Banking Conference-2025” under the guidance of Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank, head office, Dhaka as a lead bank with students, teachers from various schools and branch managers of all scheduled banks located in Barisal district.
The conference was graced by Imtiaz Ahmed Masum, executive director (Current Charge), Bangladesh Bank, Barisal, as the chief guest.
The special guests included Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, managing director (Current Charge) of Southeast Bank; Md Ali Hossain, additional director, Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank, Head Office, Dhaka; Md Harunur Rashid, district education officer, Barisal; and Md Mahabub-Ul Alam, deputy director, Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank, Head Office, Dhaka.
The event was presided over by Mohammad Rashedul Amin, deputy managing director of Southeast Bank and additionally, speeches were delivered on behalf of the students by Rabia Kamal, a tenth-grade student of Jahanara Israil School and College, Barisal, and Md Hasnain Bin Kabir, a tenth-grade student of Barishal Zilla School, Barisal.
A total of 350 participants attended the conference, including 45 officials from 45 scheduled banks in the Barishal district, 180 students and 45 teachers from various local schools, and distinguished guests.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of developing the habit of saving, investing, and practicing responsible financial management from an early age.
They also highlighted the necessity of introducing students to modern banking technologies through school banking initiatives.
The conference featured video presentations on school banking, followed by a rally, cultural performances, and a quiz competition for students.
