Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC held its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday via a virtual platform, under the chairmanship of Sadia Rayen Ahmed, chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank.
The chairman welcomed Shareholders to the AGM.
A large number of shareholders virtually participated in the bank's AGM. Shareholders approved 20% Dividend (10% cash dividend and 10% stock dividend per share) for the year 2024.
The Audited Financial Statements of the bank for the year ended December 31, 2024, were placed before the AGM.
The shareholders approved the Financial Statements for the year 2024 and made various observations and suggestions regarding the bank's performance.
Total assets of the bank as of December 31, 2024, stood at Tk679,875.5 million compared to Tk593,883.1 million of 2023 registering a growth of Tk85,992.4 million or 14.5%. Loans and Advances of the Bank stood at Tk428,689.4 million at the end of 2024, with a growth of 4.0% over Tk412,073.0 million at the end of 2023.
The deposits grew by Tk49,282.4 million to Tk521,872.5 million in 2024 from Tk472,590.1 million at the end of 2023, showing a growth of 10.4%.
In 2024, the profit before tax of the Bank stood at Tk5,369.5 million, and the profit after tax stood at Tk4,734.8 million. During the year under review, earnings per share, attributable to shareholders, were Tk5.39. The Capital to Risk-weighted Asset(s) Ratio (CRAR) under Basel III stood at 13.8% at the end of 2024, against the Bangladesh Bank’s minimum requirement of 12.50%.
The meeting approved the re-appointment of Tang Yuen Ha, Ada, as director of the bank.
The meeting also appointed PKF Aziz Halim Khair Choudhury, chartered accountants as the external auditor and Hoda Vasi Chowdhury and Co, Chartered Accountants as Corporate Governance Compliance Auditor of the Bank for the year 2025.
