Fahima Akhter, a dynamic business leader, has stepped forward as a candidate in the upcoming BGMEA (Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association) election, representing the Forum Panel.
With the slogan "With determination, towards the path of tomorrow," she brings a visionary approach to address contemporary challenges and steer the RMG sector towards sustainable growth.
Currently serving as director of Masco Industries Ltd, a key concern of the renowned Masco Group, Fahima has demonstrated exceptional leadership in one of Bangladesh’s most prominent knit composite conglomerates.
Her academic background, with an MBA from North South University, complements her hands-on experience in managing diverse industrial ventures.
Beyond her corporate role, Fahima Akhter has held influential positions including director of Janata Insurance PLC and former director of Lankan Alliance Finance PLC, contributing significantly to financial and institutional strategy.
She also plays an active role in educational and sports development as Director of Masco School Kanchan (a Cambridge curriculum institution) and Masco Cricket Academy Limited.
Her outstanding contributions have been nationally recognized with numerous awards, including the CIP (Export) Award 2022, CIP (Industry) Award 2021, National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award 2021, and the President’s Industrial Development Award 2020.
Fahima’s candidacy comes at a time when Bangladesh's garment industry is facing critical transformation due to global policy shifts, sustainability demands, and the post-LDC graduation scenario.
