Bank Asia Agent Banking, for the first time has introduced bazar-centric customer service initiative “Wet Market Collection” aiming to simplify, secure and digitize the cash handling for small-large scale traders operating in local markets and making daily transactions more efficient and reliable.
Ziaul Hasan, deputy managing director and head of Channel Banking and CAMLCO inaugurated the initiative at a program held at Genda Bazar, Savar, outskirt of Capital Dhaka on Tuesday.
KM Farid, president, Genda Bazar Babosahi Society, Ashraf Uddin Khan Shahin, owner of the market and senior officials of the bank were also present at the program.
Bank Asia, over the last 11 years has developed an extensive range of agent network with 5036 number of agents, 70% of which are bazar based.
The extensive network has enabled effective distribution of touch points in rural corners of the country along with strategic locations of agents inside the bazars which in turn has facilitated Bank Asia Agent Banking to be the preferred solution for the targeted stakeholders.
Furthermore, the transaction limit paired with exclusivity of space for agent operation has created a sense of trustworthiness within the wet market customer for such payments.
The app-based initiative marks a groundbreaking step in Bank Asia’s journey toward financial inclusion and makes the cash transactions faster, safer and tech-driven for the wet market local stakeholders.
Bank Asia plans to gradually roll out this service to other wet markets across the country, further expanding access to a secure and digital financial solution.
