United Commercial Bank (UCB) PLC and the RAISE Project, under the Wage Earners Welfare Board (WEWB), have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to help returnee migrant workers access finance for entrepreneurship at Probashi Kallyan Bhaban.
UCB’s Additional Managing Director, Adnan Masud, and Raise Project Director, Dr ATM Mahbub-Ul Karim, signed the MoU.
Senior officials from both organizations attended the event.
This partnership will provide returnee migrants with financial support to start or grow businesses, helping them reintegrate into the economy. UCB will offer tailored financial services to support their transition to self-employment.
Adnan Masud said: “This initiative will empower returnee migrants and contribute to economic growth.” Dr Mahbub-Ul Karim added, “Access to finance is key to helping returnees build sustainable businesses.”
The Raise Project, run by WEWB, focuses on creating jobs and promoting entrepreneurship for returnee migrants. This collaboration with UCB aims to ensure they have the resources to succeed.
