The Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh (AAAB) successfully concluded one of the country's most prestigious competitions, “Sharpener 2025.”
Held in Dhaka, this competition saw participation from 12 advertising agencies, with Team ‘Bon Lee’ from the agency 'Mighty' emerging as the ultimate winner.
The winning team members, Bondhon Das and Fazle Rabbi, will now represent Bangladesh as ‘Team Dhaka’ at the Asia Pacific Adfest 2025 ‘Young Lotus’ Workshop.
This year’s Young Lotus Workshop 2025 is hosted by Dentsu and will be led by Alice Chou (Chair of APAC & Taiwan dentsu Creative Council and CCO of dentsu Creative & dentsuMB Taiwan) and Hitoshi Hamaguchi (President of APAC Practices and Practice President of Creative APAC).
With the theme ‘The Collision of Creativity, Creativity++’, the workshop will challenge the next generation of creative minds to embrace new perspectives, celebrate diversity, and think boldly outside the box.
The Young Lotus Workshop 2025 will take place from March 18 - 20 at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Pattaya, Thailand.
Participants of the workshop will also attend ADFEST 2025, scheduled for March 20 – 22, where top young creatives from across the Asia-Pacific region will compete.
The jury panel for Sharpener 2025 included Akrum Hossain Shahin, chief creative officer, Pop5, Saiful Azam Mukul, executive creative director, Grey Dhaka, and Taufique Mahmud, executive creative director, Mediacom.
This year, the competition was organized under the initiative of AAAB’s new Executive Committee (EC).
Previously, it was jointly arranged by AAAB and Advertising Club Dhaka.
The competition is exclusively for individuals under 30 years old with at least one year of experience in advertising copywriting, concept development, or art direction.
Through this initiative, AAAB aims to enhance the skills of young creatives and solidify Bangladesh’s position on the international stage.
The organizers are optimistic that the winners of Sharpener 2025 will take Bangladesh’s advertising industry to new heights through their creativity and talent.
