Kazi Fahad, a young entrepreneur and organizer, has been elected as the new national president of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh, an international organization for youth leadership and development.
The general meeting of JCI Bangladesh took place on Friday, December 6, at Hotel Le Meridien in Dhaka.
Following the meeting, Fahad was elected as the national president for a one-year term through a voting process.
Kazi Fahad serves as managing director of Kazi Printing and Accessories and is also director of the Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA).
In his address, the newly elected president said: “JCI is the largest non-political youth organization in Bangladesh. In the coming year, our focus will be on fostering the talent of energetic young individuals, creating employment opportunities, and building business connections between Bangladeshi youth and the global community.”
The election was overseen by Md Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan, outgoing president, who served as the election commissioner.
Founding president Masud Mannan and Shakhawat Hossain Mamun were also part of the election commission.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global organization for individuals aged 18 to 40, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
Operating in more than 120 countries, JCI has over 200,000 members worldwide.
In Bangladesh, the organization is represented by 41 local chapters dedicated to personal development, skill-building, and leadership training for young people.
