The European Union and Bangladesh marked a significant milestone with the launch of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (EuroCham), aiming to enhance trade, investment, and sustainable growth.
The ceremony was held at the Grand Ballroom of Radisson Blu Water Garden, Dhaka.
EuroCham chairperson Nuria Lopez highlighted the Chamber’s role in promoting Bangladesh as a key destination for European investment, while vice chairperson Ziaur Rahman emphasized its importance in bridging businesses and policymakers to address challenges like LDC graduation.
Treasurer Iqbal Chowdhury also addressed the audience.
EU Ambassador Michael Miller reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to strengthening business opportunities and promoting sustainable practices.
The event brought together notable figures, including Lutfey Siddiqi, Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy on International Affairs; Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, BIDA Executive Chairman; and Abdur Rahman Khan, NBR Chairman.
Heads of Mission from several EU member states, key government representatives and numerous leading business figures were present.
Advisers from various ministries also endorsed the launch via video messages, underlining its importance for Bangladesh’s economic progress.
