As Bangladesh propels towards its ambitious "Bangladesh 2.0" vision, the role of digital empowerment and financial inclusivity in fostering growth for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has never been more crucial. In an exclusive interview with Salahuddin Sanjee, the Country Manager of Tally Solutions in Bangladesh, we explore how TallyPrime is positioned to support the country's journey toward a digitally inclusive economy, especially for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that drive the backbone of the nation.

In addressing how TallyPrime aligns with the goals of Bangladesh 2.0, particularly in promoting inclusivity and digital empowerment, Mr. Sanjee explained, "TallyPrime acts as a key enabler for the vision of financial and digital inclusivity, especially for SMEs. With 93.6% of businesses in Bangladesh classified as small and 6.4% as medium-sized, TallyPrime is a powerful yet simple-to-use solution that helps entrepreneurs manage finances, and bookkeeping, enabling them to participate fully in the digital economy."

He further highlighted, "TallyPrime is designed to handle all the essential aspects of business management, from accounting, invoicing, and inventory to bank reconciliation, ensuring entrepreneurs can access insightful reports for informed decision-making,"

With the launch of TallyPrime 5.0, incorporating the Bangla language, Tally Solutions has taken a significant step towards making digital solutions accessible for MSMEs across Bangladesh. When asked about this advancement, Mr. Sanjee remarked, "The inclusion of the Bangla language in TallyPrime 5.0 removes a critical language barrier, especially for entrepreneurs more comfortable operating in Bangla. This localization effort makes it easier for them to manage their finances in their native language, fostering digital transformation among MSMEs and ensuring they aren’t left behind."

He also emphasized how the software supports less tech-savvy entrepreneurs in adapting to digital tools. "TallyPrime 5.0 is designed to be extremely intuitive and user-friendly, guiding users step-by-step without the need for advanced technical or accounting knowledge. Our post-subscription support, provided in Bangla, ensures a smooth transition for entrepreneurs into the digital economy, eliminating technical challenges."

Additionally, Mr. Sanjee highlighted the simplified dashboard within TallyPrime, which allows users to perform tasks like invoicing and inventory management seamlessly. "The easy-to-navigate dashboard and insightful reports provide real-time financial and inventory status, empowering business owners to make informed decisions that foster growth."

Feedback from Bangladeshi users has been instrumental in shaping TallyPrime's features over the years. Mr. Sanjee shared insights into how customer feedback influences the software’s development, explaining, "We prioritize understanding our users’ needs by conducting regular surveys focused on usability, feature requests, and any challenges they encounter with Tally. Additionally, we engage small groups of users for in-depth discussions, allowing us to gain a nuanced understanding of their experiences, specific needs, and regional preferences."

Post-sales feedback plays a crucial role as well, with local partners interacting closely with customers to identify usability challenges. "Our hands-on approach allows us to refine product features and make the software more user-friendly," Mr. Sanjee added. "For example, the latest feature in TallyPrime 5.0, which introduced Bangla language support, was a direct response to customer requests in the region."

Mr. Sanjee acknowledged the challenges faced in localizing TallyPrime for the Bangladeshi market and limited internet connectivity in rural areas. "While urban areas have more reliable access, rural areas often struggle with connectivity," Mr. Sanjee said. "To address this, TallyPrime is designed to function effectively both online and offline, ensuring seamless operation for users regardless of their internet situation."

Tally Solutions also developed comprehensive training programs to support local users. "These programs include webinars, tutorials, and on-ground workshops, allowing users to confidently navigate the software. We also established continuous feedback loops, where users can report issues and suggest improvements," he explained, underscoring Tally’s commitment to continuously adapting to the evolving needs of Bangladeshi users.

One of TallyPrime's standout features is its ability to provide real-time insights and analytics, empowering businesses to make informed decisions. According to Mr. Sanjee, "TallyPrime processes transactions instantly, so businesses have an up-to-date view of their financial position. This real-time data is crucial for making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment like Bangladesh."

Mr. Sanjee elaborated on TallyPrime's reporting capabilities, stating, "The software provides customizable dashboards and reports, displaying key metrics such as sales, expenses, and profitability at a glance. These tools simplify complex data interpretation, helping business owners monitor performance and make strategic decisions."

By offering detailed financial reports, inventory analyses, and sales forecasts, TallyPrime equips Bangladeshi businesses with the tools needed to track their progress and plan for growth. "Our reporting capabilities help businesses not only manage day-to-day operations but also leverage insights to drive growth and succeed in an increasingly competitive market," Mr. Sanjee concluded.

TallyPrime’s localized approach, accessibility features, and commitment to real-time analytics are setting a new standard for empowering Bangladeshi SMEs. As Bangladesh advances towards its digital future, Tally Solutions remains dedicated to helping businesses grow and thrive in this transformative era.
