Rana Islam, a motor worker in Dinajpur Sadar, was awarded Tk20 lakh after he purchased a Walton brand refrigerator under the 'Digital Campaign Season-21's Double Million offer.
Rana lives with his wife and 2 children in a rented house at Lalbagh Baisakhi Mor in Dinajpur Sadar. A fridge was very essential in his family.
To purchase a fridge, Rana and his wife saved around Tk29,000 in a plastic bank in the last one year.
Adding some money with the amount, Rana bought a fridge from Walton Plaza Gonestola branch in Dinajpur Sadar on October 14.
After that, he received and SMS from Walton which stated that he was awarded Tk20 lakh.
By investing that money in business, Rana Islam is now on the way to fulfilling his dream of changing his fortune.
Walton is conducting "Digital Campaign Season-21" across the country from October 10 with 'Double Million' offer.
In this season, buyers may get Tk20 lakh by purchasing a fridge, TV, washing machine or BLDC ceiling fan from any Walton Plaza, distributor showroom and online sales platform 'e-Plaza'.
Under this offer, Rana Islam became the lucky winner of the first Tk20 lakh of 'double million' offer by buying a Walton fridge.
On Tuesday, a cheque of Tk20 lakh was handed over to Rana Islam at a program held at the ground of Dinajpur Institute at Jail Road in Dinajpur Sadar.
The cheque handover ceremony was attended, among others, by Walton Plaza Managing Director Mohammad Rayhan, popular film actor Amin Khan, Dinajpur Circle ASP Shekh Md. Jinnah Al Mamun, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University's Agriculture Department's Professor Md. Shahadat Hossain Likhan, Kotwali Police Station's Inspector (Investigation) AFM Moniruzzaman Mondal and Sub-Inspector Nur Alam, Walton's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Galib Bin Mohammad, Deputy CMO Zoheb Ahmed, Senior Executive Director Anisur Rahman Mallick, Walton Plaza Chief Sales Executive Wahiduzzaman Tanvir, Walton Plaza Brand Manager Wahiduzzaman and Gonestola Walton Plaza Manager Md. Sattar Hossain.
Rana Islam said: "A fridge was needed for my family. So I deposited money in a plastic bank to buy it. Thus, Rana bought a fridge of 316 liters at Tk41,200 from Gonestola Walton Plaza in the city on October 14. The fridge was digitally registered.
Then he received an SMS from Walton with the notification that he was awarded Tk20 lakh.
