JCIAD, Japanese Association in Dhaka contribute for aiding flood victims

This contribution is part of ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid and community support to the people of Bangladesh

The Japanese Commerce & Industry Association in Dhaka (JCIAD, Shoo-Koo-Kai in Japanese) and the Japanese Association in Dhaka donated of Tk2 lakh to support individuals and families affected by flood insecurity in Bangladesh through Red Crescent Society, Bangladesh.

This contribution is part of ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid and community support to the people of Bangladesh.

“We are honored to contribute to the well-being of the people in Bangladesh,” said Atsushi Hirakuri, president of JCIAD, while he handed over the check to Dr. Kabir Md. Ashfar Alam, secretary general of Red Crescent Society, at the headquarters of Red Crescent Society in Dhaka.  

Dr Alam said: “The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society has been at the forefront of disaster response and humanitarian aid in the country. With this donation, we hope to make a significant impact on the lives of those struggling with food insecurity and to inspire others to contribute to this vital cause”.

President of The Japanese Association in Dhaka Manabu Sugawara said: “This donation reflects our dedication to supporting those in need and fostering a spirit of solidarity and compassion.”

The JCIAD (Shoo-Koo-Kai) and the Japanese Association in Dhaka have a long history of community involvement and support. 

Among others, from the Japanese side, Naoki Kudo, vice president of Japanese Association, Hiroshi Uegaki, secretary general of Japanese Association and Yuji Ando, secretary general of JCIAD (Shoo-Koo-Kai) were also present. 

From Red Crescent Society, Sultan Ahmed, deputy secretary general, Dr Shahana Zafor, director, fundraising, Md Mijanur Rahman, director, disaster response & Adith Shah Durjoy, senior NSD manager, IFRC attended.
