The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has increased the price of gold.
The new prices will be implemented from Wednesday.
The decision to increase the price was taken at the meeting of the Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee of Bajus on Tuesday.
Later, the information was revealed in a circular signed by the chairman of the committee Masudur Rahman.
According to the new rate, the price for one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold has been hiked by Tk1,073. The new price for one bhori gold is now set at Tk1,16,954. The previous price was Tk1,15,881.
Besides, 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk1,11,636 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk95,691 and traditional method gold at Tk79,116.
Bajus earlier reduced the price of gold in the country's market on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged.
According to the category, at present the price of 22-carat silver is Tk2,100, 21-carat is Tk2,006, 18-carat is Tk1,715 and traditional silver is Tk1,283.
