A total of 19 journalists were awarded for various reports at the BCCCI-ERF Journalism Award.
Ibrahim Hossain Ovi, former chief business reporter at Dhaka Tribune, won the award for his report on technology, headlined "No better time than now for tech adoption."
They were all given crests, certificates and cheques of award money during a ceremony at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Sunday.
State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu attended the award-giving ceremony as the chief guest while FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh Yan Hualong as the special guests.
Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) President Gazi Golam Murtoza Pappa presided over the event moderated by BCCCI Secretary General Al Mamun Mridha, and Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF) President Mohammad Refayet Ullah Mirdha and General Secretary Abul Kashem.
Other awardees are Hasan Arif of the Business Post, Ziadul Islam of Dainik Amader Shomoy, Tanjila Nijhum Sathi of Baishakhi Television, Zahidul Islam and Abbas Uddin Nayan of The Business Standard, Jasim Uddin Haroon, Daulat Akhtar Mala and FHM Humayon Kabir of Financial Express, Sushant Sinha of Ekattar TV, Tauhidur Rahman of Ekushey TV, Iqbal Ahsan of Channel 24, Hasibul Alam Shaon of NTV, Babu Kamruzzaman of News 24, Ahsan Habib of Daily Star and SM Alamgir of Shomoyer Alo.
