JCI Dhaka Sparks forms new committee for 2024

The new board, led by local president (elect) Sumaya Mahmud Sharna was officially sworn into office

JCI Dhaka Sparks, an extension of JCI Bangladesh and Junior Chamber International formed its new board for 2024 at the General Assembly held at Hotel Bengal Blueberry in the capital on October 27.

The new board, led by local president (elect) Sumaya Mahmud Sharna was officially sworn into office at an oath-taking ceremony in the presence of Senator Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan, national president of JCI Bangladesh and also chief guest at the GA, as well as deputy national president Imran Kadir.

Md Azazul Hasan Khan, NVP and mentor of JCI Dhaka Sparks, was also present on that occasion.

The new board envisions working on climate change activation, members’ development, strengthening community-based interventions, and developing the JCI brand.

Other board members include immediate-past local president Noor E Alam Bhuiyan, executive vice president Tukhbita Afroz Nawmi and vice presidents Wafi Aziz Sattar, Raihan Ahmed Dip, and SM Nazmul Hoque. 

Mostafijur Rahman Shuvo will serve as secretary general while Farzana Sultana Mow assumed the office of general legal counsel (GLC) and Sabnin Sababa as the treasurer.

Md Shaiful Islam, Md. Al Mamun, Md. Jakir Hossain and Sariya Hossain, will serve as directors.

As committee chairs, Md Farhad Hossain Fahad and Darras Kamal Tahrir will be leading strategic aspects while Nusrat Jahan Jenny will take charge as training commissioner.

Senator Shahmina Isha Mannan, past local president of JCI Dhaka Sparks, chaired the election process.

JCI is a worldwide membership-based non-profit organization of young active citizens aged 18 to 40 who are dedicated to creating positive change in their communities and JCI Dhaka Sparks is among the new founding local chapters of JCI Bangladesh.
