Gold prices cool down

Update : 18 Dec 2021, 07:15 PM

The price of gold has been reduced by Tk1,166 per bhori. Each bhori of gold is equivalent to 11.664 grams.

According to a statement from Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) issued last Tuesday, the price was reduced since the price of gold is moving downwards in the global market due to the economic crisis and various complexities caused by the new Omicron variant of Covid-19.

The price has also declined in the domestic bullion market.

With the new rate, each bhori of 22-carat gold will now cost Tk73,133.

Meanwhile, each bhori of 21-carat gold will cost Tk69,984 and 18-carat Tk61,236.

Gold acquired in the traditional method will cost Tk50,913. The new prices will be effective immediately.

The price of silver remains unchanged.
