Nothing says freedom like driving down a wide open road in a 2022 Jeep Wrangler with the top pulled back and adventure just around the corner. The classic off-roader has a traditional exterior design that pays homage to the rugged Jeeps of WWII, but it's loaded with modern amenities like touchscreen infotainment, cruise control, and eight-speaker audio.
With leather seats, ambient interior lighting, and in-dash navigation in higher-level trims may be a downright luxury.
The Wrangler is available in two-door and four-door body styles, but consumers seeking more capacity for passengers and goods should consider the four-door unlimited variants.
A plethora of capability-enhancing upgrades are available to assist buyers in customizing their Wrangler to their exact specifications.
The Wrangler has what it takes to compete with rivals such as the Toyota 4Runner and the resurrected Ford Bronco in the international market due to its wide choice of models and amenities, as well as its reputation for conquering trails.
However, currently, there is no other vehicle like the Wrangler in Bangladesh. There are cheaper and much less sophisticated Indian-made Mahindra that gives a similar look, but these two can hardly be put in the same sentence, let alone in a head-to-head competition.
Engine and performance
The engine comes in two variants, a two-litre petrol and a JL 2.2D Rubicon is powered by a 2143 cm3/130.8 cu-in capacity Inline 4, Diesel engine.
However, the 2.2L diesel variant won't be imported by Jeep for Bangladesh.
At 5250 rpm, this 2.0L engine generates a maximum output of 272 PS (268 bhp - 200 kW) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm (295 lb.ft) at 3000 rpm.
All-wheel drive (AWD) with an 8-speed automatic transmission transmits power to the road.

The Wrangler JL sports a Beam axle, which is responsible for road grip, handling behaviour, and ride comfort.
Spring coils, front suspension, anti-roll bar, and beam axle are all standard features, the rear suspension with coil springs. Although its handling has improved over prior versions, it still feels trucklike when compared to today's sophisticated SUVs and pickups. The four-doors' ride is acceptable on rough surfaces.
Front tire sizes are 255/75 on 17-inch rims, and rear tire sizes are 255/75 on 17-inch rims.
The Wrangler JL 2.0T Rubicon braking system has vented discs in the front and discs in the rear for stopping power, but braking distances are inconsistent, although not significant enough to deter you from purchasing this car.
Four-wheel drive is standard, and the Rubicon trim level has enhanced off-road mechanicals. The Ford Bronco, Toyota 4Runner, and Land Rover Defender are among the Wrangler's rivals. Behind the backseat of the Wrangler Unlimited, there are 18.2 cubic feet of cargo capacity.
Interior
The Wrangler isn't the most roomy or accommodating SUV on the market, but it offers a seamless blend of classic and current Jeep flair.
A commanding perspective of the road—or trail—allows for simple handling, although the back view is obstructed by substantial roof pillars, roll bars, and multiple grab handles. If you require a better view, simply lift the top and remove the doors.
The driver and front-seat passenger are seated close to the upright windshield, facing a thin, squared-off dashboard accented by round air vents and hefty switchgear for the climate-control system, power windows (if supplied), and entertainment.

However, the Wrangler is adequate as an errand runner, but keep in mind that its back seats do not fold flush with the floor. As you might guess, choosing the traditional two-door Wrangler over the bigger four-door variant has a considerable cargo-hauling disadvantage.
Packing light is easy when you can fit two of our carry-on cases behind the two-doors back seat, vs ten for the four-door.
A Wrangler can be customized with merely the necessities or with current infotainment features.
Its infotainment interface, known as Uconnect, is simple to use, responsive, and may be presented on a touchscreen available in three sizes.
Navigation and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system are optional, as are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Verdict
The Jeep Wrangler is a one-of-a-kind vehicle that not only looks and feels unique but has a tremendous amount of history to its name.
Throughout this review, we did not even have to mention whether it is reliable or not, as no SUV even comes close to it.
With a price tag of around Tk1.5 crores, there are sure other alternatives that might look fancier but if you want a solid vehicle that comes with a rugged look, there is simply no other vehicle like this one.
