Agami Education Foundation (AEF), a sister organization of Agami Inc founded by Bangladeshi individuals living in the USA, is a voluntary, non-profit, non-political and secular organization dedicated to improving the education of underprivileged children in Bangladesh.
The 4th fundraising event of Agami Education Foundation (AEF) was held on Saturday at Emmanuelle's Party Center, Gulshan-1, Dhaka, reads a press release.
Ramendu Majumder, an honourable actor, writer, stage director and theater producer was the guest of honour at this event.
Dr Tazkera Khanom, former director of Finance of AEF, Nafisa Khanam, former executive director of AEF and Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, who is now the senior executive vice president and chief risk officer at Lanka Bangla Finance graced the event as special guests.
The event started with a welcome note from Shawkat Hossain, president of the organization. After the welcome note, an opening dance was performed by students of one of the Agami-supported schools.
Later, chief guest Ramendu Majumder delivered a valuable speech for all. In his speech, he appreciated that AEF is providing great support for the education of underprivileged children in Bangladesh.
He also put emphasis on ensuring quality education in addition to basic education for the children.
After his speech was over, a video titled ‘Agami's Dream' was shown focusing on the current activities of AEF and goals and targets. A beautiful dance was performed by students of an Agami-supported school choreographed on different activities of AEF.
Next started the panel discussion named ‘Story of Agami' moderated by Abdur Rahman Khan, director of AEF and participated by Dr Tazkera Khanom, former director of Finance, AEF, Nafisa Khanam, former executive director, AEF and Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, SEVP, Lanka Bangla Finance and Zahidus Salam Dipok, a representative from the Serve Foundation.
All panellists discussed and shared their experiences and put emphasis on education for underprivileged children in Bangladesh and the moral responsibility of the wealthy society and CSR companies.
Monika Biswas, executive director, AEF and Dr Nehreen Majeed, director of programs hosted the program gracefully.
Display of handicraft goods such as jute bags, Nakshikathas etc made by mothers of underprivileged children under the AEF Knitting Project was a special attraction at the event.
Dr Prof MR Kabir delivered concluding remarks He extended thanks and gratitude to all donors and well-wishers who supported the noble cause of education for underprivileged children and urged everyone to come forward to support the children in need.
The event was followed by a photo session and dinner.
