Dorik, a Sylhet-based startup, which offers a flexible, easy-to-use, and one of the most affordable website-building services has raised a pre-seed from investors based in the USA.
Nabil Choudhury, the chief operating officer of Dorik, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
The startup uses 11 technology products and services including HTML5, Google Analytics, and jQuery, according to G2 Stack and is actively using 48 technologies for its website, according to BuiltWith, which include Viewport Meta, IPhone/Mobile Compatible and Google Font API.
The platform enables anyone to create a functional website in minutes without any design or coding experience and focuses on the expansion of No-Code, which has seen a rise in the last several years.
The platform helps agencies and professionals build websites for their clients with no coding required. It also offers a wide range of features and templates that can be customized to fit each client's needs.
Additionally, users can brand the platform with their logo and colour scheme.
Dorik's co-founders Anwar and Mizan have been building websites and website templates since 2012. They started Dorik as a side project back in 2019.
However, Dorik's first landing page went live in April 2020 to find beta testers and early customers, landing requests for early access from the day its landing page was launched.
Starting off with more than 250 paying customers in the first week of its launch, the startup has been growing ever since.
Right now, the company has a workforce of 45 people, mostly working from its head office in Sylhet. A few employees are connected remotely from Dhaka and Chittagong.
Since its inception, It has grown fast globally, having served over 25,000 customers from all around the world.
“Bangladesh has a lot of growing businesses that are shifting online, not to forget the huge freelance industry. Currently, Bangladesh has thousands of web design and development service providers and freelancers, with roughly 1,600 agencies working with foreign clients. They can save time and money both by using Dorik instead of WordPress, Webflow, Wix and others,” the COO of the platform told Dhaka Tribune.
According to the top brass, when it comes to businesses, owners want to make the right investments that can generate higher profits and Dorik is easy-to-use and affordable compared to its competitors in the market.
With Dorik, businesses can save time and money, have more dynamic features, sustain customer loyalty and hence make more profit, Chowdhury pointed out.
“Not to mention, with the rise of young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, Dorik can provide a fast and affordable solution to them that can give them a huge jumpstart.”
“The market size of website design services is more than $40 billion and website builder market size is more than $6 billion. More than 500,000 websites are created every day. It's one of the biggest markets out there. Dorik is loved by customers all over the world, and businesses will have no problem making their clients get comfortable with the product,” he further said.
Dorik was the number one product of the week on Product Hunt during the Spring, Summer and Fall of 2022.
