Ashish Pradhan, president of Siegwerk Asia, is visiting Dhaka to talk to stakeholders about the health and safety aspects of the packaged food industry, reads a press release.
Ashish is an industry leader with close to 30 years of experience and extensive knowledge of the ink industry.
He has been associated with companies such as Huhtamaki, Positive Packaging, Henkel and International Paper, where he served in senior positions.
During the visit, Ashish will be meeting government officials, regulatory bodies, customers, partners and brand owners to discuss the importance of food packaging safety from an ink manufacturer’s perspective and how to work towards regulation for improving food packaging safety standards in Bangladesh.
With its initiative of toluene-free ink production, Siegwerk Bangladesh aims to create a nationwide ink safety scenario, especially highlighting the negative health impact of using toxic ingredients in printing inks and other unsafe elements in the production of food packaging.
The company’s blending center is located at the Meghna Economic Zone in Narayanganj, Bangladesh and reached the break-even point in the first year of its center’s operation this year.
The company has been working with country converters and brand owners to make sure their entire range of product packaging is printed with toluene-free inks.
