The Audi Q3 offers luxury with German reliability

Even though it's on the pricey side, it's big and has a beautiful cabin with plenty of technology to play around with.

Last week, we reviewed the GLS 450, a model which is very popular among enthusiasts given its price, but this week we are going to talk about its smaller rival the Audi Q3, which is much more affordable but without any compromise on luxury.

It’s also an alternative to the BMW X1 and Volvo XC40 and sits between the Q2 and Q5 in the enormous range of SUVs available in Audi’s line-up.

When it initially came out, the Audi Q3 was a big seller for the company, proving to be a success with families looking for a practical SUV.

Despite competing in one of the toughest and most saturated market, the current, second-generation Q3 wants to build on that success.

The standard Q3, currently priced at Tk77 lakh and appears to have all of the necessary components to be a successful competitor. There's the sophisticated, feature-packed infotainment system, plenty of internal room, and a more muscular appearance than the first-generation model.

It includes Audi virtual cockpit plus with touch response, MMI Matrix LED with dynamic LED rear, panoramic glass roof Audi HiFi with Apple car play and Android auto, contour ambient light, Audi drive select and comfort key.

The masculine front-end features an octagon-shaped single frame and huge side air inlets, and the radiator grille's stunning frame is divided into eight vertical bars, which reflect the SUV's character.

Ride quality

The suspension on the Audi Q3 allows it to be maneuverable in town, agile on country roads and balanced on the highway. The preceding model's sporting flair has been kept, but with a noticeable dose of added comfort.

Users of the new SUV said the vehicle is comfortable on uneven roads, thanks to its larger wheelbase. The Audi drive selects a dynamic handling system that allows the driver to change the characteristics of the Audi Q3 depending on the driving circumstances, road conditions, or personal needs.

It comes in six different styles, ranging from markedly comfortable, highly efficient through to out-and-out sporty.

Though the Audi Q3 is comfortable and composed, it’s more suited to motorways than country roads. It has a slightly stiff edge to the ride in versions with larger wheels and stiffer sports suspension, but at higher speeds, it’s smooth enough.

Light steering means it’s easy to drive, but it’s not particularly fun, according to reviewers all around the world.

Engine

There are a variety of engines to select from, starting with a 150hp petrol engine in the 35 TFSI and progressing to a 233hp petrol engine in the 45 TFSI, as well as 150hp and 190hp diesel.

For most people, the entry point makes the most sense because it offers the best value for money.

The car’s mileage is 15.17 to 18.51 km per litre but the diesel variants offer a slightly better mileage.

The Audi Q3 is a fantastic all-around family SUV that excels in the areas that car buyers care about. Even though it's on the pricey side, it's big and has a beautiful cabin with plenty of technology to play around with.
