Last month Audi Bangladesh announced that they are going to launch the Audi E-Tron GT in the local market; however, an official date for the launch has not been set.
The new Audi E-Tron GT is an electric four-door coupe with powerful motors and seats for five people and that too in style.
After many reforms in legislation, the European and American car markets are going electric and one can easily expect that the entire industry will shift towards that within the next decade.
Major car manufacturers around the world are heading towards going green and the luxury electric market is clearly in overdrive. The Audi E-Tron GT is the latest example of the type of sophisticated machine the automotive world is heading towards.
What to expect
The model has already been available in the international market for quite some time now and it gained huge popularity, mostly because of its performance and how it looks.
Audi never disappoints when it comes to the looks of their cars, the E-Tron GT was co-designed with Porsche and is based on the same underpinnings as the Taycan.
As a result, it looks just as wide and purposeful and has a similar sloping roofline and the rear doors blend into the wide haunches to give the appearance of a sporty coupe, despite the fact it’s a four-door electric car.
The muscular wheel arches and aggressively styled headlights suggest this model was made to be used as a weekend car. A driver-focused fun to drive vehicle.
The Audi E-Tron GT’s long body provides good legroom, but headroom is a little tight for tall passengers in the back, according to European standards but that should not be a problem for us here in Bangladesh. There have been small complaints regarding the central rear passenger seat which apparently feels a bit too cramped.
The E-Tron GT is going to feature a 366-litre boot, which is accessed through quite a small boot opening and the load area can be expanded by folding down the back seats (which you’ll have to do by opening the rear doors). It also has an 81-litre storage area under the bonnet.
The 2021 model is powered by two AC synchronous electric motors, front and rear axle powered by E-Tron and produces a maximum 475kW, roughly around 600 hp.
The electric range of the car when fully charged is expected to be around 425 km.
