On the occasion of World Environment Day, washing powder brand Surf Excel has come forward to inspire children to do something positive for the environment, starting by planting some trees.
Unilever announced this initiative by going live on Facebook on Saturday, alongside next-generation organization Footsteps, for an initiative titled “Why Mind a Few Stains, If They Save the Environment?”
Children participated in this event by planting trees from their homes, reads a press release.
As a part of the initiative, Surf Excel and Footsteps provided plants, pots, and soil for planting along with detailed guidelines to all the participants beforehand.
On the day of the event, the children participated in the plantation program following the module, along with enthusiastic participation by the parents.
Surf Excel believes people have to come forward to save the environment and take equal responsibility for bringing positive changes.
And if clothes get a little dirty in the process, it is a very small price to pay for saving the environment, the release adds.
Surf Excel hopes that all members of the future generation answer this call and take at least one positive step for the environment.
The objective of the initiative is to directly make an impact in protecting the environment by taking realistic measures for creating awareness, said senior representatives of the brand.
