Chartered accountancy (CA) firm Snehasish Mahmud & Co on Monday held an online presentation and discussion to highlight the key changes and relevant features of the Finance Bill 2020.
The session focused on how the Finance Bill 2020 would impact the economy already affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the business community, said a press release.
The firm's founding partner Zareen Mahmud Hosein gave the opening remarks, while another founding partner Snehasish Barua delivered the technical presentation, emphasizing on the changes in Income Tax, value added tax (VAT) & Customs, and excise duty.
Md. Tariq Hassan, deputy commissioner at Customs Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Dhaka East, NBR and Sarder Md Abu Helal, deputy commissioner of taxes of Taxes Zone-15, Dhaka, NBR, participated as guest speakers to provide further guidance on the tax and VAT changes.
Clients of the firm and leaders of the business community also attended the webinar.
