LankaBangla Finance, one of the leading non-banking financial institutions, has donated Tk2 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund, as part of its effort to combat Covid-19.
LankaBangla Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Retail finance Khurshed Alam handed over the cheque to Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Ahmad Kaikaus at the Prime Minister's Office on Thursday, said a press release.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the handover ceremony via video conference and thanked the delegation for coming forward in support of the adversely affected marginal income population amid coronavirus pandemic.
Chief Financial Officer at LankaBangla Finance Shamim Al Mamun was present in the event, among others.
The release stated that despite the challenging speculations of the economy, the financial institution had been relentlessly working towards helping the society combat the ongoing pandemic.
