Snowtex Group, a leading business group directly involved with the export of ready-made garments, is distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) to journalists and healthcare workers who have been working amid the coronavirus pandemic situation.

The group is producing 50,000 PPEs in total but kept aside 17,000 PPEs from total production for free distribution.

“We are handing over 17,000 sets of free of cost PPEs through Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association [BGMEA], Marks & Spencer and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology [BUET] to healthcare workers and journalists of different media houses to ensure safety of the professionals,” said SK Rahat, assistant manager (public relations) of SaRa Lifestle Ltd, a sister concern of Snowtex Group.

The group already donated PPEs to most of the leading media houses including online, print, and electronic media to ensure safety of the journalists, he added.

With the name “Snowtex”, the group started its journey in 2000 as a buying house and gradually introduced one factory after another in the apparel sector over the years.

Major production lines of Snowtex include Snowtex Apparels Ltd, Cut N Sew Ltd, Snowtex Outerwear Limited, and Snowtex Sportswear Limited.

In 2018, the group launched its new fashion retail brand Sara Lifestyle Ltd in local market to provide quality products at a reasonable price.
