Keeping in mind of local family size and their consumption pattern, the premium rice bran oil is available in three SKUs i.e. 2, 3 & 5 litres.
At the initial stage, Puriva will be available in all metropolitan cities and gradually in other parts of the country as well.
Addressing the launching ceremony as the chief guest, Trust Bank Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Ishtiaque Ahmed Chowdhury wished success of the oil refinery.
He said: “A section of people in our society are now shifting to rice bran oil because of added health benefits. With the rise in buying capacity, consumers are attaching more importance to hygienic and healthy products.”
Agrotech Managing Director Prokash Dutta said Puriva has been launched aiming to bring global standard edible oil for local consumers.
“Despite many limitations and barriers, we have ensured quality in our products that helped us get international certifications.”
Rice bran oil is extracted from germ & inner husk of rice and contains various health benefits. It is very popular as edible oil in several Asian countries including Japan, Korea, Thailand and China.
Puriva is produced at the company’s refinery at Shambhugonj in Mymensingh district, just beside the river of Brahmaputra where fresh rice bran is abundantly available.
“Puriva” is also 20%-30% less absorbed in foods because of its low viscosity compared to other edible oils, which directly keeps a strong impact on the monthly oil consumption.
Health benefits of the rice bran oil includes reduction in blood cholesterol level, inhibition of gastric acid secretion, lowering of blood pressure, modulation of pituitary secretion, etc.
