Tourism fair begins tomorrow in Dhaka

Biman Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair 2017 is set to begin tomorrow in Dhaka. Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) has organised the three-day fair to boost the country’s tourism industry. The fair will be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) which will remain open for the visitors from 10 am to 8 pm every day. Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), airlines, tour operators, hotels, resorts, financial institutions and others working in the travel and tourism sector will showcase their products and services at 168 stalls and pavilions. Tour operators from Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, India and Singapore will participate in the fair. Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) President Toufiq Uddin Ahmed came up with this disclosure at a press conference  yesterday. Tourism Board CEO Dr Nasir Uddin, Parjatan Corporation Chairman Dr Aparup Chowdhury and Biman Bangladesh Airlines General Manager (PR) Shakil Meraj, among others, were present. Toufiq Uddin Ahmed said TOAB is expecting around 30,000 visitors will visit the fair which would be beneficial for the industry. A total of 50 exhibitors from 13 countries will participate in the fair. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will be present at the concluding day of the fair on Saturday. The participating organisations will offer attractive packages and discounts for the visitors during the three-day fair which will end on April 22. The event will also consist of seminars on the sidelines of tourism fair. The entry fee is Tk30 a person. The US-Bangla airlines has announced a 15% discounts in all domestic routes and Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka route.
