BKash Limited with the partnership with the state-owned Agrani Bank Limited launched disbursement of stipend for the students of secondary schools on Sunday.
The students will receive the stipends in their BKash accounts twice in a year.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the system as the chief guest at the International Mother Language Institute auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday.
Around 300,000 students of 2,916 secondary schools will receive the stipends under SESIP, initiated by the education ministry with the Asian Development Bank’s technical and financial assistance.
SESIP Director Prof SM Wahiduzzaman chaired the event.
The inauguration was also attended by BKash CEO Kamal Quadir.
