State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has said the dream of becoming a developed country will only come true when the Bangladesh Delta Plan (BDP) 2100 will be implemented.
The state minister made the observation at the launching ceremony of country’s first internal cargo vessel hiring app ‘Jahaji’ at the Jatiya Press Club on Sunday.
The vision of becoming a developed country by 2041 and the implementation of BDP both have close relation, the minister said.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself said that Bangladesh will become a developed country by 2041. BDP 2100 took birth to give shape to that vision. Everyone must work to implement it,” he said.
Lauding the app developers, the state minister said, “If entrepreneurs like ‘Jahaji’ creators come to work in our sector, we will always welcome them.”
‘Jahaji’ is a mobile-based app which lets the user hire cargo vessel on internal routes and also know the shipping fare on the domestic routes, the destination of the ship and its current location from anywhere in the world.
