National Board of Revenue (NBR) has held a discussion with leaders of trade bodies over bonded warehouse system automation.
NBR Member Sultan Mohammad Iqbal spoke at the event at a city hotel on Tuesday.
Bond Management Automation Project (BMAP) under the revenue board organized the event.
Sultan said they would arrange more discussions to finalize the design of the bond automation system, after taking opinions from stakeholders.
NBR provides bonded warehouse facilities to export oriented industries for importing raw materials and packaging materials used for export purposes without any kind of duties.
Leaders from different trade bodies, especially who enjoy bond facilities, including Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BPGMEA), Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), attended the program.
Senior officials from Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) also took part in the discussion.
