Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) has awarded three architectural firms for the eco-friendly and energy-efficient design of IDCOL commercial building to be built at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.

IDCOL, in association with the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), organized the award ceremony at IAB on Sunday.

IAB Preisdent Jalal Ahmed presided over the program while IDCOL director AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul was present as chief guest.

“IDCOL is aiming to obtain the Platinum certificate from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED) for this project," said Mahmood Malik.

“We will try to get this certificate which will set itself as a commendable example to encourage further construction of eco-friendly and energy-efficient Green Building in Bangladesh”, he added.

More than 60 architectural firms participated in the design contest in which nine best architectural designs were selected. Of them, three firms secured the first, second and third places and got prize money with certificates.
