PRAN, a leading food processor of Bangladesh, bagged export orders worth $5.25 million at the Sial Food Fair, which ended on Thursday. Around 400 importers from 85 countries visited PRAN’s stalls at the five-day fair.
Starting from October 21, about 7000 exhibitors from 109 countries participated in the fair, held at Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris, said a press release.
Chief Operating Officer at PRAN Export Limited Md Mizanur Rahman, said that this year, PRAN operated out of two stalls and displayed over 500 of its products, including 20 new ones.
“Candies, chocolates, lollipops, juice, noodles and biscuits were the center of attraction among the buyers,” said Mizanur.
Mentioning that PRAN received tremendous response from the buyers, Mizanur added that PRAN’s products are now being exported to 141 countries. Of them, Venezuela, Kosovo, Serbia, Costa Rica, and Czech Republic joined as new importers after booking orders in the fair.
Marketing Director of PRAN-RFL Group Kamruzzaman Kamal said that the main purpose of participating in the exhibition was to expand their export market.
“This creates a scope to spread our products across the world, since SIAL food fair is one of the largest food fairs in the world, which attracts traders and buyers from every corner of the world,” he added.
