Fair Electronics Limited on Tuesday inaugurated a new manufacturing plant at Narshingdi to produce a wide range of4G smartphones for Samsung Electronics in the country.
Samsung was the first global handset company to setup a manufacturing plant in Bangladesh.
Fair Electronics Limited came up with the announcement at a press conference at hotel in the city.
The 58,000-sq ft state-of-the-art plant will generate over 500 new jobs and many more indirect jobs and will bring the smartphones in an affordable range of consumers and encourage more investments.
Seungwon Youn, managing director of Samsung Electronics in Bangladesh and Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub, managing director of Fair Electronics Limited were present at the press briefing.
