BTMA holds reception for Mirza Salman Ispahani

Mirza Salman Ispahani, Chairman of MM Ispahani Ltd and Managing Director and also Chairman of Pahartali Textile and Hosiery Mills, was elected as the president of the International Cotton Association (ICA) Liverpool, UK for 2017-2018 session. The election was held in Singapore on October 13, 2017. It is the first time that any spinner or buyer has been elected as the President of ICA from the Indian sub-continent. Mirza Salman Ispahani represents Pahartali Textile and Hosiery Mills in Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA). Terming the achievement of Mirza Salman Ispahani 'prestigious and extraordinary', the BTMA said he is the first spinner in this sub-continent who has been elected as the president of ICA. The BTMA honoured Mirza Salman Ispahani at a program, held at its office in the city on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, BTMA President Mr Tapan Chowdhury welcomed Mirza Salman Ispahani and requested him to play an active role for resolving any complication regarding cotton sales or purchases. Mirza Salman Ispahani also expressed his gratitude to the BTMA for honoring him and assured the association of providing all necessary cooperation to protect the interests of cotton business according to the ICA’s Law-bylaws.
