Six members of a Rohingya family sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder fire at a Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya on Thursday.
The incident was reported from Balukhali-1 camp’s Block D/4 around 10am.
One of the injured was identified as Nurul Alam, and the other members of his family could not be named immediately, Naimul Haque, commander of Cox’s Bazar Armed Police Battalion-14 (APBn-14) told Bangla Tribune.

“Nurul Alam’s wife was attempting to light their gas stove in the morning but failed due to some problems in the stove.
“She may have left the gas cylinder on to light the stove with a match stick, which triggered the fire,” he added.
The family members were rescued and admitted to Balukhali MSF Hospital.
