Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Sunday increased the retail price of a 12kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder by Tk70 for August.
Under the revised rates, a 12kg LPG cylinder will now cost Tk1,598, up from Tk1,528 in July. The new prices came into effect on Sunday evening.
The latest increase follows a steep Tk357 price cut in July, when the price of a 12kg cylinder was reduced from Tk1,885.
BERC, in a notification, fixed the consumer price of privately marketed LPG at Tk133.15 per kg, effective from Sunday evening.
The regulator also raised the price of autogas used in vehicles to Tk73.67 per litre, from Tk70.40 per litre in the previous month.
BERC reviews LPG and autogas prices every month in line with international LPG prices and other associated costs.
