12kg LPG cylinder price reduced by Tk39

The revised price will come into effect at 6pm

Update : 02 Jul 2025, 04:02 PM

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of a 12kg cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Tk39 at the consumer level.

BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed announced the new rate at a press conference at the commission's office on Wednesday. The revised price will come into effect at 6pm.

As per the new rate, a 12kg cylinder will now cost Tk1,364.

In June, the price was Tk1,403.

According to the BERC, the LPG and autogas prices for July have been adjusted at the consumer level based on the Saudi CP (contract price) for propane and butane announced by Saudi Aramco.

For July, the price of propane per ton is set at $600 and butane at $570. Considering the propane-butane ratio of 35:65, the average Saudi CP per ton stands at $580.5.

Since April 2021, the BERC has been fixing LPG prices. The key components of LPG—propane and butane—are imported from various countries.
