The director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is set to visit Bangladesh in July, according to Md Abu Jafar, the Bangladeshi ambassador to Austria.
IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano will visit the site of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project, reports Shomoy TV.
Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque said IAEA Ambassador Tebogo Seokolo will also visit Dhaka on June 1 for a three-day visit ahead of the IAEA chief's visit. He will visit the site of Rooppur plant and discuss with officials to enhance cooperation with the IAEA, reports BSS.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano and discussed Bangladesh's nuclear collaboration with the IAEA during her May 29-30 visit to Austria.
