Tofail: Gas crisis to be eased by December

“The government has decided to drill 108 new wells across the country to resolve gas crisis in local industries,” the minister told reporters after a meeting with the new office bearers of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Thursday. MCCI President Nihad Kabir also attended the meeting held at the Commerce Ministry auditorium. The Awami League MP from Bhola also said that two new wells had been drilled in his area. Regarding cash incentives for the ICT sector, Tofail said that the prime minister had approved the proposal for giving cash incentives to the ICT exporters. “But it is not possible to give the demanded 20% cash incentives to the sector,” he added.
