BREB power connections cross 1.98 crore mark

Aiming to help the government implement the Vision 2021, the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) has given 19,817,786 new electricity connections in parts of the country until August. The development took place in the areas which are under the jurisdiction of 80 Palli Bidyut Samities of the BREB, said a press release on Tuesday. In August alone, 359,391 new power connections were provided by the BREB, which the media release termed a great achievement and a revolutionary measure. According to the release, the BREB is eyeing 90% power coverage among the people by 2018.
