Polling ends at Zia Girls School centre within 3 hours!

Voting in Zia Girls School centre in Jatrabari has been completed within three hours.

Our Special Correpondent Asif Shawkat Kallol reported from the spot that Presiding Officer Faruk Niaz locked the polling booths and left the centre with ballot boxes around 11am Tuesday.

Visiting Tamirul Millat Madrasa centre, it was seen that Presiding Officer Md Khalilur Rahman left the centre with the ballot boxes after voting ended around 1:30pm. There were 395 voters to cast vote in the centre.

Elections in three city corporation are underway amid vandalism and occupying polling centres allegedly by the ruling party cadres. 

Terming the ongoing city polls farcical, BNP has rejected the polls in Dhaka North, Dhaka South and Chittagong City Corporations.

Voting at Suritola Model Primary School and Kabi Nazrul Government College centres has been suspended following vandalism at the centres. 

Journalists have allegedly been barred by police personnel from entering several polling stations in the capital.
