Fakhrul: AL responsible for attacks on minority

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that Awami League was responsible for the recent spate of attacks on minorities across Bangladesh. “Now, they are trying to put the blame on BNP. They have established Baksal to ensure one-man-led government,” the BNP leader made the comment while talking to journalists at his ancestral house in Thakurgaon town on Thursday morning. The ruling Awami League neither believes in democracy nor practices it, he said, adding that Awami League had killed democracy and established a rule of autocracy. Fakhrul was a member of the parliament for Thakurgaon 1 constituency from 2001 to 2006.
