Awami League-backed mayoral candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation election Sayed Khokon has promised to make Dhaka corruption free if he is elected in the polls scheduled to be held on April 28.
He made the statement while unveiling his manifesto for the upcoming DSCC polls in a press conference held at Diploma Engineers' Institute in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
The manifesto consisting of five key points include easing traffic congestion of the city; pollution-free safe Buriganga river; solution to the issues related to water, gas, and electricity; a clean, pollution-free, and healthy city; and a corruption, terrorism and extortion-free city.
Speaking on the occasion, Khokhon said: “We will make recreational places like Hatirjheel free from extortion, terrorism, and drug addicts.”
On Friday, Khokon, son of the first elected mayor of Dhaka city Mohammad Hanif, was allocated the "Ilish" symbol for the DSCC polls.
