Alal released from Jail

Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, president of BNP's youth wing Jubo Dal, has been freed from Kashimpur jail on Thursday afternoon, three moths after he was arrested.

The bail documents of the Jubo Dal president Gazipur’s Kashimpur Central Jail at around 9am Thursday, said Faridur Rahman Rubel, jailer of Dhaka Central Jail 2 (Kashimpur).

“Alal was released around 12 noon after the jail authorities scrutinised the papers.”

The police said he is an accused in nine cases filed with different police stations and secured bails separately in those cases in different times.

On December 27, police arrested Alal from his Lalmatia residence in the capital.

On December 24, Md Delower Hossain, sub-inspector of Chakbazar police filed a case against 76 leaders and activists of BNP on charge of their involvement in a clash in Bakshibazar area.

The BNP leaders and activists clashed with activists of Chhatra League, a student body ruling Awami League, near a makeshift court in Bakshibazar ahead of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s appearance in the court in two corruption cases on that day.
