Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu has urged the BNP-led alliance to come back to democratic process by participating in upcoming elections of Dhaka and Chittagong City Corporations.
The minister made the call while addressing as chief guest of the annual sports of Government Brojo Mohun College on Saturday.
He told the journalists that movement of BNP-led 20-party alliance is not against the specific party or government, but it is against the state and sovereignty of the country.
So, AL-led government is calling the BNP-led alliance to return from the acts of terrorism, anarchy and arson attacks that are damaging the life of citizens and properties of the country.
The industry minister also cautioned that sabotage and terrorist acts in the name of strike and blockade will be curbed harshly.
The government would not hesitate to take hard step for suppressing terrorist acts to ensure safety and security of the life and assets of the citizens and country.
Participation in DCC and CCC polls could create opportunity for BNP-led alliance to come back on their missed track of democratic trail, said Amu.
AL lawmaker Jebunnessa Afroj, Barisal University Vice Chancellor Dr. Harun-or-Rashid were present as special guests on the occasion.
