BNP chief Khaleda Zia was keen on seizing power in order to save herself from the corruption cases against her, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan has claimed.
Addressing a rally at Motirhat in Lakshmipur’s Komolnagar upazila yesterday, the minister added that the prime minister cannot be removed from office by violent acts such as burning people with petrol bombs.
“Khaleda is using petrol bombs to kill people with the help of Jamaat-e-Islami... Khaleda Zia has become restless to reach power,” the minister added.
Hinting at the BNP chairperson, Shajahan said: “Stop violence and hartal-blockade, or else there will be dangerous consequences. You will not even know what would happen.”
