Islami Chhatra Shibir of Chittagong city unit has called 48-hartal nonstop shutdown in greater Chittagong on March 11 and March 12 protesting the arrest of Jamaat-e-Islami Chittagong city unit’s acting Ameer Md Ahsanullah.
Shibir’s Chittagong city (north) unit Publicity Secretary Kanak Hasan, made the announcement through a press release which was e-mailed to Dhaka Tribune at around 7:20pm on Sunday.

Apart from the hartal programme, the Shibir also called protest rally across the greater Chittagong on March 10 to press home their demand.
He also urged the government to play proper role for state’s all citizens.
Earlier, Chittagong Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) nabbed Chittagong city unit Jamaat-e-Islami’s acting Ameer Md Ahsanullah from Halishahar area early on Sunday following on a tip-off.
