BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was placed on a fresh four-day remand yesterday in connection with an arson case filed with Mohammadpur police station in the capital.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque passed the order after police produced him before the court seeking a seven-day remand in the case filed against him for arson on a vehicle near Geneva Camp at Mohammadpur on January 26.
Rizvi was produced before the court on completion of his three-day remand in another arson case filed with the same police station.
Till now, Rizvi has been placed in a total of 21 days of remand in six cases filed with Jatrabari, Badda, and Mohammadpur police stations on charges of vandalism, arson attacks, and blasting cocktails in the city during the ongoing movement of the BNP-led alliance.
